ROHR Zimbabwe International launched Zimbabwe Peace Actors Platforms in Mashonaland East
The venue of the launch was Murape/Mungate grounds in Domboshawa.
The launch was attended by hundreds of people, including Headman Murape (see photo below), about 33 village heads, 5 Councillors, 12 football teams, business people from around Mugabe area, the elderly, young children, people from across the political divide as well as clergyman from various churches.
The launch was dubbed The Domboshawa Peace Soccer Tounarment. The Headman (through his spokesperson ) applauded ROHR International for bringing a a peace project in the community as it helps to keep the young people busy and keep them away from bad behaviours such as stealing and violence.
ZimPAP is a partnership between ROHR Zimbabwe International and more than 20 NGOs working in the area of peace. It also include 32 community based organisations and it seeks to register nearly 100 000 Civilian Friends for Peace(CFP) who will tackle issues of physically, psychological and structural violence in their communities. Today we have managed to register 352 CFP. These include 2 councillors, 9 village heads,8 business people, 4 pastors,most of the players and the crowd.They all volunteered to be part the civilian peace keeping mission in Mashonaland East Province.
Moreso, ROHR Zimbabwe International managed to hand over soccer’s kits, balls and a trophy doted by ROHR International, UK chapter.
